modchip.org has compiled this info so that you may be better informed about our products and the installation. If you have any questions please contact at first our Forum.

If you have a wii consoles after the production date 5.2007 then three pins from the driver IC are removed (D2B, D2C) and due to the lost pins the wii modchips don´t works:

This pins are absolute required for the wii Mod Chip functions:

But this is not a great problem, because with the right tool are the pins in some steps recovered and the wii ModChip is installed. All you need is a Dremel Multi-Grinder with a little grindstone:

Now remove VERY CAREFUL the black plastic so that you can solder the wires on the contacts:

Solder now the wires on the driver IC and on the motherboard contacts:

Now you can install your wii Mod-Chip - ready :-)

You can also solder the wii Chip on the driver IC (this is easyer):

Info: at some D2B and D2C motherboards was also removed the solder pad for the contact 3. Check your wii motherboard and if you don´t have this solder contact then you must solder a wire from the wii ModChip to the driver IC pin 5:

Or if the 3 pins are also removed then you solder all wires to the driver IC:

You see on this instruction the wiikey but it works also with other wii Mod-Chips: Cyclowiz, wiiD, DOUwii, wiikit, ...
